The effect of Earthbiotics on crops residue decomposition and its influence on soil fertility recovery.

As the ancient saying goes – a fool grows weeds, a smart man grows harvest, and a wise man – soil. This saying is still of current concern!

Soil degradation, the decrease of its fertility and loss of soil resources are a global economical and environmental issue of modern times.  It stands to   reason, that it is unreasonable overdosage of   mineral   fertilizers   and chemicals  that  is  playing  a  significant  role  in  the  deterioration  in  the  soil  condition;  such overdosage boosts biological erosion of soil, which leads to its dehumification, decrease in its   fertility.  But due to the effect of excessive doses of mineral fertilizers and  pesticides,  the  microorganisms    get    weaker    and    end    up    dying. It  also  causes diseases. And diseases require application of chemicals. It creates a vicious circle…

Soil   fertility   recovery    becomes    a    priority   for   agricultural    workers.    By    following recommendations    of    well-known    soil    scientists    and    microbiologists,    it   is    feasible to  replenish    reserves    of    organic    substances,    to    maintain    active    background    of beneficial microflora, just like nature, one scientifically    proved    and    productively    recognized    agricultural    practice    stands apart: application of natural humic fertilizer Earthbiotics on crops residue and their burying into the soil.

EARTHBIOTICS     contains     up     to    15    types    of     prevalent     beneficial     bacteria.

In  interim  conclusions,  it  is  noteworthy  that  application  of  EARTHBIOTICS  on crops residue and soil (recommended dosage is 1.0-2.0 liters per 1 hectare) results in:

  1. a) increased biological activity of soil:

accumulation of organic matter, main source of energy for every soil-forming process; optimization of species composition of soil microflora – soil cured of pathogens; activation of plant residues mineralization and humification processes;

accelerated pesticide residue decomposition processes in soil. b)increased fertilizer elements accessibility from soil: stimulation of fast root system development;

active  protection  of  root  system  from  fungous  and  bacterial  rots  during  the  whole

vegetation period of crops;

colonization of plants’ rhizosphere with microorganisms capable of effective nitrogen fixation, phosphorus and potassium mobilization.

What else soil treatment with fertilizer EARTHBIOTICS provides:

increased    water-retention    capacity    of    soil,    20-30%    on    average.    Humic acid  molecules  coat  and  stick  one  to  another  soil  mineral  particles,  what  aids  in generation of  valuable  lumpy-grain  structure,  which  increases  soil  water-retention ability.

drought- and frost-resistance of plants increases owing to boosted immune system and   development   of   stronger   root   system,   which   intensifies   water   and   oxygen absorption   by  the   plant,   as   well  as   improves   soil  nutrition.   These   properties  of EARTHBIOTICS  are  confirmed  by  research  of  the  Islamic  Azad  University  in

Ardebil

(Iran)  conducted  in  2008-2010  on  12  genotypes of wheat in conditions of drought.

Research has shown that wheat’s resistance to drought increased on average by 20%,

yield – up to 25% or by 7-16 dt/ha;

soil   fertility   recovers   due   to   application   and   accumulation   of   humic   substances.  The    content    of    humic substances     in EARTHBIOTICS is twice higher than in manure, while biological activity is 3-4 times  higher.  It`s  important  that  EARTHBIOTICS overcome   some  shortcomings  of  manure because  it  contains  no  weed  seeds,  helminth  eggs,  pathogenic  microflora,  and  it  is  more producible.  According  to  the  data  of  the  Lomonosov  MSU  Faculty  of  Soil  Science,  the treatment  of  soil  and  seeds  before  sowing  with  1l  humic  fertilizer  EARTHBIOTICS  is equivalent  to  the  treatment  of  9-10  tons  of  manure  per  1  hectare,  which  gives  a  yield

increase of 31.5%.

The MSU scientists have also proved the complex positive effect of EARTHBIOTICS on both the   physical   and   agronomic   properties   of   soil   and   its   structure.   The   application of EARTHBIOTICS resulted in:

  • increase in the total porosity of the soil by 14.5% and inter-aggregate porosity of the soil – by 24;
  • reduction in soil bulk density by 12.5%;
  • acceleration of the speed of soil moisture – filtration coefficient increased by 23%;
  • increase in  the  amount  of  water-resistant  and  agronomical valuable  aggregates in soil by 4%;
  • acceleration and   intensification    of   formation    processes    of    the    so-called

“younger humus” (humic substances and non-specific organic compounds).

 

Current    agricultural    practices    include    various    schemes    of    soil    treatment    with EARTHBIOTICS, both with mineral fertilizers economy and without it. One thing is sure – a regular annual treatment of acreage with the EARTHBIOTICS fertilizer (with crops residue treatment   or  without  it)  means  a  significant   increase   in   soil  water-retention   ability, restoration of both fertility and environmental parameters of agrocenosis.
